Q: What one word best describes your store?
A: Friendly

Q: What three words best describes your customer?
A: Active, Social, and Fun!

Q: What makes your store different from the rest?
A: Service, coupled with a huge selection of today's best designers - people rarely find so many designers in one botique. AND a helpful, friendly staff!

Q: What article of clothing have you kept forever and why?
A: I keep all of my Prada shoes, as if I'm compiling a shoe museum or somehing?! I love my M Clothing designers - DVF, Rebecca Taylor, Rozae Nichols, Kathy Kamei jewelry, etc and my Pradas (particularly the platforms) always finish the look for me.

Q: Finish the following sentence: In fashion, it is most important to be...
A: Comfortable being exactly you! M Clothing wants to compliment the fabulous woman that you already are!

Q: If you did not pursue a retail career, what would you be doing?
A: I WAS a foreign commerical service officer, and I have a Master's Degree in Russian and International Studies from Columbia University.

Q: What is your current fashion fixation/fetish?
A: I'm obsessed with shift/swing dresses, cocktail rings, and high rise jeans - and always, always color and pattern!

M Clothing Healdsburg opened in September 2002. Owner Marty Murphy’s life-long obsession with fashion, and love of Northern California’s wine country, led her to open her first boutique in the up and coming Sonoma County town of Healdsburg.

Marty wasn’t always in the fashion industry. In fact, she holds a Master’s Degree from Columbia University in NYC in Russian and International Studies, and served as a U.S. Foreign Commercial Service officer in the mid-1990s. Marty has traveled extensively throughout Europe, Russia and Southeast Asia, and lived in many places, including England, Estonia, Java, Washington, DC, Cape Cod, San Francisco, and Stinson Beach. Her travels built a love of ethnic/folkloric costumes and embellishments, along with a fascination of clothing in both Eastern and Western cultures.

A drive into Healdsburg on a warm, spring day sealed the deal. There was the perfect space for a new kind of boutique: a store with designer clothing for today’s woman. Who is “Today’s woman”? Well, one whose life is filled with so many aspects – home, family, friends, career, travel, volunteer and charitable events, sports and soirees. What if women had a place to shop for beautiful, original, designer clothing that actually looked and felt good when you wore them to the playground, office, concert, or just to the grocery store?

M Clothing is that place – we offer more than 30 top designers each season, outstanding customer service, and a commitment to bringing you “runway to reality” every day. A Lucky Magazine favorite boutique, M Clothing has been featured in C Magazine, Travel & Leisure, Marin Magazine, and Canada Airlines “En Route” publication as Gina Gallo’s favorite store in Healdsburg.
